If Only You Could See

I know you're feeling sad today
because I had to go.
I know you have so many things
that remind you of me so.
And though you cry as you recall
the times you spent with me.
I know your pain would turn to joy
if only you could see.
I'm in Heaven with Jesus now.
We laugh, we sing, we play.
He holds me gently in His arms.
I know no pain today.
And though we're apart for a little while,
Jesus has promised me
He'll someday bring you here
where we'll live for eternity.

Life's Trials

I know that there has been so much
that you have been through.

Life sometimes hands us challenges to
test our ability and courage.

Your illness has been a very trying experience,
I know, but you have shown so much faith and
strength in everything you've been through.

I'm so glad, Friend, that you are almost over this
trial, and that you will soon be able to get back
to the things you enjoy and the people you love.

I am so proud of you, and glad that you are going
to be well again soon.

A Shared Tear

As the sun goes down, we realize
that another day is coming to an end.
We feel for your family and close friends
at the loss of your loved one.

We wish you the peace and assurance
that the reasons are there.
They may be beyond our understanding
at this time, but they do exist.

We pray you are comforted during this
time of grief, through your friends and family.

We just want you to know, Loved one, that
our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I Am With You Always

As you hold me close in memory,
Even though we are apart,
My spirit will live on,
There within your heart...

I am with you always.

When you lean on trusted friends
And their caring hugs enfold you,
Within their loving arms,
I'll be there to hold you...

I am with you always.

And beyond the far horizon
When we'll finally be together
Where love will be eternal,
And life will last forever...

I am with you always.

One day at a time--this is enough.
Do not look back and grieve over
the past, for it is gone;
and do not be troubled about the future,
for it has not yet come.
Live in the present and make it so beautiful
that it will be worth remembering.

September eleventh two thousand one
the whole world got to see
the towering twins of New York State
fall so helplessly.

They both were struck, by suicide jets
on a mission to destroy
the spirit of America
and freedoms we enjoy.

Then the third jet struck our Pentagon
while a fourth jet couldn't go
beyond the Pennsylvania trees
'cause of heroes, we now know.

So with vengeance left to be the Lord's
one thing still applies...
Freedom just might cost your life
but Freedom never dies!

The Day The Brothers Fell

The day the brothers fell
was an awful day, we say.
We still cannot begin to wonder
all the lives that were lost that day.
But I'm sure that it brought us
Americans together, closer,
taking care of one another.
So 9-11 was not a day the devil won,
September 11, 2001 was a day that God
used to bring us together despite
all the violence that was done.

United we stand,
steadfast and tall,
committed to peace,
and freedom to all.

For times like these,
that try all our souls,
can renew our faith,
in ourselves and our goals.

Let's open our hearts,
as our proud banners wave,
o'er the land of the free,
and the home of the brave!

Dear God

Dear God, I want to say,
A special prayer in a special way.
May you bless those far and near
Brighten a smile and dry a tear.

Who could forget that terrible day
America was attacked in a horrific way?
God, please show them that you're near
Touch a soul to show you care.

Guide them every day and night
Let them know they'll be all right.
Help them to heal day by day
And show them they're loved in every way.

Bless people far and near
Who helped out others and showed they cared.
Bless those who passed away
For their love will never stray.

God, I know you'll hear my prayer
And you'll bless everyone everywhere.
Please take our pain away
God, please bless the U.S.A.

Our Flag

As we salute 'Old Glory'
In her Stars and Stripes so bold
She brings to us nostalgia
In memories we hold

Uniting us in brotherhood
A glimpse of beauty bright
The emblem of our freedom
Of a nation crowned in light

As the song "God Bless America"
Resounds throughout the land
Steadfast we pledge allegiance
To our flag who flies most grand!

One generation.
One gender.  One faith.
One language.

One family.  One soul.

We are United.
We are America.

The Lady

I wonder what She thought as She stood there, strong and tall.
She couldn't turn away; She was forced to watch it all.
Did She long to offer comfort as Her country bled?
Her arm forever frozen high above Her head.
She could not shield Her eyes; She could not hide Her face.
She just stared across the water, keeping Freedom's place.
The smell of smoke and terror somehow reduced Her size.
So small within the harbor, but still we recognized.
How dignified and beautiful on a day so many died.
I wonder what She thought and I know She must have cried.

One

As the soot and dirt and ash rained down,
We became one color.
As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning buildings,
We became one class.
As we lit candles of waiting and hope,
We became one generation.
As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno,
We became one gender.
As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength,
We became one faith.
As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement,
We spoke one language.
As we gave our blood in lines a mile long,
We became one body.
As we mourned together the great loss,
We became one family.
As we cried tears of grief and loss,
We became one soul.
As we retell with price of the sacrifice of hero's,
We became one people.

Reach out in the early morning mist,
As the day's sun
Breaks the calmness of night,

Tomorrow is a dream that leads me onward...

Tomorrow is a path I've yet to choose,
It's a chance I've yet to take,
A friend I've yet to make,
It's all the talent I have yet to use.

Tomorrow is a dream that leads me onward...

Always just a step ahead of me...
It's the joy I've yet to know,
The love I've yet to show,
For it's the person I have yet to be.

Every morning is a fresh beginning.
Every day is the world made new.
Today is a new day.
Today is my world made new.
I have lived all my life up to this
moment, to come to this day.
This moment--this day--is as good as
any moment in eternity.
I shall make of this day--each moment
of this day--a heaven on earth.
This is my day of opportunity.

Happiness cannot come from without.
It must come from within.
It is not what we see and touch or that which
others do for us which makes us happy;
It is that which we think and feel and do,
first for the other fellow
and then for ourselves.

as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging

When the funds are low

Rest if you must but--
Don't you quit!

Constant Incline

          If I can
make it through
                each day,
        and get something
worthwhile accomplished.

                            If I can see
                beyond my faults and
            make them be constructive.

Just a little step that's higher,
                            just a little try again,
just a little sticking with it,
is the only thing that will help me win.

            I won't give up.
            I see it now,
            Life's trials aren't forever,
It's a way to make me see,
            That tomorrow will be...even better.

Comfort Zone

I used to have a comfort zone where I knew I wouldn't fail.
The same four walls and busy work were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things I'd never done before,
But stayed inside my comfort zone and paced the same old floor.

I said it didn't matter that I wasn't doing much.
I said I didn't care for things like commission checks and such.
I claimed to be so buys with things inside my zone,
But deep inside I longed for something special of my own.

I couldn't let my life go by just watching others win.
I held my breath; I stepped outside and let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength I'd never felt before,
I kissed my comfort zone goodbye and closed and locked the door.

If you're in a comfort zone, afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were at one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise can make your dreams come true.
Reach for your future with a smile; Success is there for you!

Success

The road to Success is not straight.  There is a curve called
Failure, a loop called Confusion, speed bumps called Friends,
red lights called Enemies, caution lights called Family.

You will have flats called Jobs. But, if you have a spare called
Determination, an engine called Perseverance, insurance called Faith,
a driver called Jesus, you will make it to a place called Success.

A Mother's Prayer

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day,
With little time to stop and pray.
For Life's been anything but calm,
Since You called me to be a mom.
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with building blocks.
Cooking, cleaning and finding shoes,
And other stuff that children loose.
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
Wiping tears and giving hugs.
A stack of last week's mail to read-
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord,
Just at the sink, the ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace,
I see then, in my small one's face,
That You have blessed me all the while,
And I stoop to kiss that precious smile.

I'm Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I am free.
I'm following the path God has laid, you see.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I, too, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee.
God wanted me now; He set me free!

A Traveler's Prayer

When facing a great distance and hills that I must climb
Let me take the journey one step at a time
Though it's hard to bid farewell to loved ones left behind
May the thought of my return be foremost in my mind
If I've taken a wrong turn and somehow gone astray
Let me keep my faith and courage and safely find my way
Though some would count the journey by the hours or by its trials
Let me count the friends I've made while traveling across the miles
