There are many people
that we meet in our lives
but only a very few
will make a lasting impression
on our minds and hearts.
It is these people that we will
think of often
and who will always remain
important to us
as true friends.
By Susan Polis Schutz
I could catch a rainbow, I would do it just for you
And share with you its Beauty on days you're feeling Blue.
If I could build a Mountain you could call your very own
A place to find Serenity, a place to be alone, I'd do it just for you.
If I could take your Troubles, I would toss them in the Sea
But all these things I'm finding are Impossible for me.
I cannot build a Mountain or catch a Rainbow fair
But let me be what I know best, A Friend that's always there.
To My Friend, My Other Heart
Thinking of the blessings
I appreciate the most,
I can't help but think of you
And how we are so close.
Even when we haven't been
Together for a while,
Just to hear your voice
Is enough to make me smile.
You have a knack for knowing
The best advice for me,
Or when a great big hug
Would be the kindest therapy.
You always understand me-
You have right from the start...
And so I thank the Lord for you,
My friend, my other heart.

A Box Of Gold
With a secret inside
that has never
This box is priceless
but as I see
The treasure inside is
far more precious to me
Today I share this
treasure with thee
It's the treasure of
My Special Friend
It takes many special qualities
To make a friend like you,
A lot of care and kindness
And understanding, too...
It takes a special kind of love
That seems to know no end
And the thoughtfulness and patience
Of a true and trusted friend...
It takes many special qualities
To make a friend like you,
And that's why you
Are loved so much
Today and all year through.
My friend, My companion,
Through good times and bad.
My friend, My buddy,
Through happy and sad.
Beside me you stand,
Beside me you walk,
You're there to listen,
You're there to talk.
With happiness, With smiles,
With pain and tears,
I know you'll be there,
Throughout the years.
A friend is like a flower,
A rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate,
That never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
Both beautiful and wise,
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
Whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like those blades of grass,
You can never mow,
Standing straight, tall, and proud,
In a perfect little row.
A friend is like a heart,
That goes strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world,
If we didn't have a friend.
If One Day...
If one day you feel like crying...
Call me. I don't promise that I will make you laugh,
But I can cry with you.
If one day you want to run away...
Don't be afraid to call me. I don't promise to ask you
But I can run with you.
If one day you don't want to listen to anyone...
Call me. I promise to be there for you,
And I promise to be very quiet.
But if one day you call...
And there is no answer...
Come fast to see me.
Maybe I need you.
If I ever ignored you, I'm sorry...
If I ever made you feel bad or put you down, I'm sorry...
If I ever thought I was bigger or better than you, I'm sorry...
I love you...
Don't ever forget that! Through bad times and good,
I'll always be here for you.
I am sorry...
For everything wrong I've ever done.
I'm writing this because what if tomorrow never comes?
I love you!
What if God...
What if God couldn't take the time to bless us today,
Because we couldn't take the time to thank Him yesterday?
What if God decided to stop leading us tomorrow,
Because we didn't follow Him today?
What if we never saw another flower bloom,
Because we grumbled when God sent the rain?
What if God didn't walk with us today,
Because we failed to recognize it as His day?
What if God took away His message,
Because we failed to listen to the messenger?
What if God didn't send His only begotten Son,
Because He wanted us to be prepared to pay the price for sin?
What if the door of the church was closed,
Because we did not open the door of our heart?
What if God stopped loving and caring for us,
Because we failed to love and care for others?
What if God would not hear us today,
Because we would not listen to Him?
What if God answered our prayers the way
We answer His call to service?
What if God met our needs the way
We give Him our lives?
THE OLDER I GET
the longer I hold on to a HOLIDAY HUG...
the more I realize Christmas is a
MATTER OF THE HEART...
the tighter my throat gets when I sing
the more I enjoy GIVING than receiving...
the more I try to see Christmas
THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD...
the longer I sit at night in the
GLOW OF THE CHRISTMAS TREE...
the more wondrously beautiful the
CHRISTMAS STORY is...
the deeper my awe at
GOD'S INFINITE LOVE...
THE MORE I LOVE
I Never Knew
I never knew what love meant
until you touched my life.
You give life it's self-meaning and purpose.
With the whisper of your name
the birds sing no more,
or perhaps I loose the ability
to hear their song.
My heart longs only for the sound
of your voice,
and the touch of your silky, soft hand.
I never knew life could be so full.
I never knew love could be so real.
I never knew what happiness was
until I new your love, dear.
With every breath I breathe,
with every beat of my heart,
my eternal soul agrees...
I never knew live until I knew your love.
Love from Above
Each night as I lay down, I silently pray,
I thank God for sending his miracles my way.
I close my eyes, and look up above,
And I thank Him again for your endless love.
He knows my thoughts, he feels my fears,
He has seen the truth, he has seen my tears.
Can't wait for the day, there'll be no more cries,
No worries, no doubts, no fears or goodbyes.
The happiness I feel, inside my soul,
makes me instantly smile, for you make me whole.
You have emerged and taken all my pain away,
I am healed by your touch, and the words that you say.
I write this poem, HUSBAND, with thoughts of you,
What you mean to me and all that you do.
I am ever so grateful to have you by my side,
With you I have everything, I feel so alive.
By Marie Weaver 1999
If there was no sun,
Then you would be my light.
If everything in my life was going wrong,
Then you would be the one to make it all right.
If there was no sound,
Then you would be the music I hear.
If I was sick and dying,
Then you would be my only cure.
If I was weak,
Then you would be my strength to carry on.
If I needed someone to hold me through the night,
Then you would be there to lend me a shoulder to cry upon.
If the whole world turned against me,
Then you would be there for me anywhere, anytime,
And If there was nobody that cared,
Your love would be all that I needed in my lifetime.

My Lover, My Best Friend
We would talk and talk for hours on end.
But I meant nothing more than just a friend.
Although my feelings grew stronger everyday.
I'd push them aside thinking they'd go away.
Then one day he reached me deep inside.
He found the feelings I could no longer hide.
Today I'm happier than I could ever be.
'Cause he's my lover, my best friend, he's a part of me.
-Marie Weaver 1998
I Love You For So Many Reasons
I love you for that certain smile that cheers me when I'm
I love you for your tender kiss that warms me through and through.
I love you for your gentle hand, your understanding touch,
Your eyes that always seem to say, "I love you very much."
I love you for your faith in me, your sweet and patient ways,
And for the thoughtful things you do so often without praise.
I love you so for all these things and many others, too...
But most of all for what I am whenever I'm with you!
LOVE IS A MIRACLE
Love is a miracle, sweet as can be,
That will always remain a complete mystery.
For though it is something that's centuries old,
It cannot be purchased for silver or gold.
But instead must be given of one's own free will,
And received with no promises it must fulfill.
And once it's exchanged in this time-honored way,
There's nothing that love cannot manage to say.
No problems too great and no problems too small,
For love, like a miracle, conquers them all.
And leaves in their place such a feeling of peace,
That joy, just like love, cannot help but increase!
Love is patient and kind;
Love is not jealous or boastful;
It is not arrogant or rude.
Love does not insist on its own ways;
It is not irritable or resentful;
It does not rejoice at wrong.
But rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things,
Believes all things,
Hopes all things,
Endures all things.
Love never ends...
But the greatest of these is
-1 Corinthians 13:4-8, 13
I remember when we
and the strong love that has
grown between us since then.
How full, yet short, the years have been.
A large reason for this is because of you
and your kind and giving ways.
You have made us a home,
warm with the joy
which only a family can bring.
You have stood by me in the good
and the bad,
the smiles and the tears.
I love you with a love
that goes beyond what I can express.
Thank you so much for being my friend,
my love and my wife (husband)!
Loving eyes that shine with pride,
Thoughtful words that teach and guide.
Rowdy games and quiet talks,
Shoulder rides and hand-held walks.
Always there for smiles or tears,
A beacon through the troubled years.
The days have passed before our eyes,
Wondrous times with laughs and sighs.
And though the child has gone away,
Father's love is here to stay.
Tender smiles and warm embraces,
Soothing words for tear-stained faces.
Gentle hands to guide the way,
Through the trials of every day.
Always there to show and share,
The years have passed in loving care.
Sun-filled days of work and play,
Dream-filled nights all tucked away.
And though I walked up childhood's hill
Mother's love surrounds me still.
Grandma's Hugs Are Made of Love!
Everything my grandma does
is something special made with love.
She takes time to add the extra touch
That says, "I love you very much!"
She fixes hurts with a kiss and smile
And tells good stores Grandma-style.
It's warm and cozy on her lap
For secret-telling or a nap.
And When I say my prayers at night,
I ask God to bless and hold her tight.
'Cause when it comes to giving hugs,
My Grandma's arms are filled with love!
To My Brother
To a brother that is caring,
To a brother that is full of love,
To a brother that can make
me laugh when I am sad,
To a brother that can make
my depression go away,
To a brother that can make
me smile when things are bad,
To a brother that protects
me when I am threatened.
To my brother, for all those times
you have stood by
me and helped me out,
For all those times when I pulled away
and you pulled me back,
And for all those times,
I thank God for a brother like you.
I'm glad to have you as my brother,
and I wanted to thank you for everything.
What are girls made of?
Lots of smarts, caring hearts
and great big dreams.
Super minds of many kinds,
talent and drive
to triumph and thrive...
Kindness and sharing,
courage and daring,
the basic essentials
for great potential,
Always a tone of laughter and fun,
Lots of pride, deep inside...
That's what Girls are made of!
Don't let your parents down...
They brought you up.
Be humble enough to obey...
You may give orders someday.
Choose companions with care...
You become what they are.
Choose only a date...
Who would make a good mate.
Don't show-off when you drive...
Drive with safety and arrive.
Guard your thoughts...
What you think, you are.
Be master of your habits...
Or they will master you.
Don't let the crowd pressure you...
Stand for something
or you'll fall for anything.
My sister shares a part of me
that no one else
shall ever see.
And when the days
and miles divide us...
the bond we have
shall live inside us.
dreams, love and laughter--
My sister for always,
My friend...forever after.
are my sunshine,"
A Mother always understands
the things you say and do.
She overlooks each of your faults;
She finds the best in you.
A Mother's love is a special love,
it inspires you each day;
She spreads her joy and happiness,
in her warm and caring way...
A Mother's all these things and more,
there's no greater treasure known.
The most precious Mom in all the world,
is the one I call my own.
Son is a lovely word
that always brings to mind
memories of the happiest
and very warmest kind!
Thoughts of you bring memories
through each passing year,
you've been the kind of son
who's especially sweet and dear.
If you could read my heart
then you would surely see
with every day that passes by
you mean still more to me.
What is a husband?
A husband is that "special guy" that you yourself
As being nice to be around and nice to think about...
The one you wanted most of all to share your hopes and schemes...
The one you're glad you waited for...the answer to your dreams...
The one who had that special way of being dear and sweet...
The one who made your life worthwhile, your happiness complete...
A husband may not speak of love as often as he should...
Because he feels the love you share is clearly understood...
And yet, he let's you know he cares in countless little ways...
And it's his smile you count upon to brighten cloudy days...
So, all in all, a husband is a pretty special guy...
And naturally, you love him more as every day goes by...
And even when you do not say the things you feel about him...
Or tell him just how meaningless you life would be without him...
You think somehow he understands...you're proud to be his wife...
And that his love will always be...your greatest joy in life.
To My Husband and My Best Friend
I'm so glad I met
someone special like you.
I love who you are,
and all that you do.
You're thoughtful and kind,
and you've got your own style.
It's your love and your charm
that make life worthwhile.
You are my Husband,
and my lover, too.
We're Best Friends forever,
I'll always love you.
For My Godmother
Like a rose, your beauty of heart
and freshness of faith set you apart.
Picked by my parents, a precious flower,
you bless me with the grace you shower
upon my newly budding days
through your sweet and caring ways...
Over the year's in God's garden of love,
you'll be for me an example of
a life being tended by His gentle care,
growing in grace, protected by prayer.
Thank you, Godmother,
for being the one
to show me how
to reach toward
Sometimes it's not easy
to put things in words.
But Dad I want you to know
the things that you have taught me,
the help and encouragement
you've always given me,
is something that will be with
me always. Thank you for being
the kind of Dad I could always
count on. And no matter where I go
or what I do,
I will never outgrow the need
for a Dad who is as
special as you.
To My Daughter
If it weren't for sunshine,
The days would be all gray.
If it weren't for showers,
There'd be no flowers in May.
It it weren't for rainbows,
Promises made would not be true.
If it weren't for daughters,
I'd have no one like you.
A daughter's smile can chase away
Any sadness in a day.
A daughter's hug means so much more
than words would ever say.
A daughter's love is a reward
A gift that God did give.
To Him I gave my daughter's life,
Through Him, I pray, she lives.

A Daughter (Son)
A daughter (son) is a wonderful blessing,
A treasure from above.
She's (He's) laughter, warmth, and special charm,
She's (He's) thoughtfulness and love.
A daughter (son) brings a special joy,
That comes from deep inside.
And as she (he) grows to adulthood,
She (He) fills your heart with pride.
With every year that passes,
She's (He's) more special than before.
Through every stage, through every age,
You love her (him) even more.
No words can describe the warm memories,
The pride and gratitude, too,
That comes from having a daughter (son),
To love and cherish...just like you!
Grubby little fingers,
Dirty little face;
Racing through life at the speed of light,
There's no one could take his place.
Riding on a stick horse,
With a cowboy hat and a gun;
Accomplishing his mission in life,
To bring mischief, laughter and fun.
There's no one like a grandson,
To bring a grandparent joy;
Snips and snails and puppy dog tails,
All wrapped in a little boy.
A little bit of sunshine,
A blessing from the Lord;
He's got us right where he wants us,
He's the little man we adore.
